The audition will be run on a 1st come, 1st served basis on the day of the audition. Sign ups will begin just before 11am.

Equity actors for roles in Veterans Repertory Theater's Staged Reading 2024 Season (See breakdown).
Staged readings take place one day per week for each show for 4 consecutive weeks.
Please prepare a comedic monologue. Also, please bring your headshot and resume stapled together.

Justin: 25-60 years old, CIA Agent
Penny: Any Age, French Operative, excited to help in anyway possible, fiscally sensitive. Yuri: Any age/male – speaks English with a Russian accent
Conductor: Speaks English, but with a French accent, doesn’t speak French.
Lauren, 40ish, female. Dressed in the stylish, well-curated manner of a career politician. Jessica, 40ish, female. Dressed for tea at a nice hotel, but not as put-together as Lauren.
JAIME: Of working age, gender neutral
JOE: Of working age, gender neutral
Mary: twenties, a bank robber, dumb by nature
Patsy: twenties, a bank robber, even dumber by nature
Wilma: thirties, a bank robber, smarter only in comparison

WILLA Struggling to break free from old ideas and decisions to find confidence in her work as a writer.
CHLOE An attractive young French woman from post-WWII Paris. She is a character in one of Willa’s stories.
MARK A somewhat unlikeable villain in a story idea discarded by Willa. He is a little bitter about it. HANNAH Willa’s therapist.

GEORGIE: Female-identifying, late 20s-30s, any ethnicity. She comes from a working-class background and is currently working as a legal secretary. She is confident, sex-positive and doesn't suffer fools. She is the Eliza Doolittle in this modern take on Pygmalion.
ANDREW: Male-identifying, 30s, any ethnicity. Georgie's neighbor and mentor. Connects her to the secretary job working for his friend Edward. A political philosophy professor at a small college and engaged to Lydia. A nice guy.
EDWARD: Male-identifying, 30s, any ethnicity. Georgie's boss and Andrew's friend. He's a fast and smooth talker. A defense lawyer who argues for fun and doesn't like to take no for an answer.
LYDIA: Female-identifying, 30, white. Andrew's fiancée. She is the definition of a WASP and on the surface is the complete opposite to Georgie

BRIDE - a young woman celebrating the most beautiful and anticipated day of her life; she is older than she appears.
MAN - her biological father; he is younger than he appears.
KAIYA - Late 20s
TOPHER - Early 30s
JIMMY Male, 21, any ethnicity. Danny’s older brother.
DANNY Male, 20, any ethnicity. Jimmy’s younger brother.
Hank, 60s a struggling old writer in Hollywood
Maggie, 18 – 25, a young girl from the Ozarks, trailer park white trash type, fresh off the bus in Hollywood, trying to make it in the movies.
