Somewhere in La Mancha a man’s brain dries up from reading one too many books of wandering knights. Iraq, But Funny is a dark, satirical, multi-media, semi-autobiographical play. It portrays five generations of Assyrian/Iraqi families, with a focus on the women, from Ottoman Empire to modern day U.S.A.. While we explore the personal/familial generational cycles and cycle breaking, we are also taken through the world and region’s historical timeline via a British narrator, called The English Gentleman (aka TEG). Actors will portray multiple characters throughout the generations.
