Mia Kadar BIO
Mia is a rising senior in high school. She is a proud member of the International Thespian Society Troupe 4100. Mia is a 2024 CAPA Marquee Best Actress Finalist, 2024 CS Music All-State Certified Singer and a Class of 2024 Finalist for The Songbook Academy. She participates in school Choir and A Capella Choir and placed second for Musical Theater in the 2023 NATS Ohio State Competition. Mia has been performing on stage from a young age in numerous school and community productions. Some of her favorite shows include Mean Girls High School Version (Regina George), Fiddler on the Roof (Golde, Chava), Rent School Edition (Mimi) and Mary Poppins Jr. (Mary Poppins). She is participating in the 2024-25 Short North Stage Internship program. Mia has also held technical roles for musicals and plays including Dance Captain and Costume Head. After high school, she plans to pursue a BFA in Musical Theatre at a college where she can continue to explore acting, singing and dancing.

From hundreds of applicants nationwide, 40 high school students from 14 states have been selected to participate in this year’s Songbook Academy®, aweeklong summer intensive that immerses young performers in America’s musical heritage and helps them develop as artists under the guidance of Broadway stars and other entertainment professionals and music educators.

Set in the little village of Anatevka, the story centers on Tevye, a poor milkman, and his five daughters. With the help of a colorful and tight-knit Jewish community, Tevye tries to protect his daughters and instill them with traditional values in the face of changing social mores and the growing anti-Semitism of Czarist Russia. Rich in historical and ethnic detail, Fiddler on the Roof‘s universal theme of tradition cuts across barriers of race, class, nationality and religion, leaving audiences crying tears of laughter, joy and sadness. Based on Sholem Aleichem stories by special permission of Arnold Perl. Performances run Dec. 2 - 17, 2023, at Gallery Players, 1125 College Ave., Columbus, Ohio 43209.
