SEEKING

Equity actors for roles in FUN HOME (see breakdown).

Open to all ethnicities, genders and ability. We encourage Trans and Gender Non Conforming performers to submit for any roles they are interested in; genders listed are those of the character, not the performer. Those who are auditioning for FUN HOME will also be in consideration for our NEW FACES SING BROADWAY NOW concert, scheduled for Fall of 2024.

At this time, Porchlight Music Theatre is unable to provide travel/housing/per diem for out-of-town Artists.

PREPARATION

Please prepare a brief cut of a song, no longer than one minute, that best showcases your voice. Please bring your book in case the team would like to hear more.

NOTE: Adult/Young Adult roles will have an understudy. Small Alison/Christian/John will be double cast.

SEEKING:

Alison: Female, a 43-year-old cartoonist, Lesbian and daughter of Bruce and Helen; mezzo Medium Alison: Female, Alison at 19, Oberlin College freshman, comes out while in college; mezzo

Bruce Bechdel: Male, Alison's father, High School teacher, owns the Bechdel Funeral Home, closeted gay; baritone.

Helen Bechdel: Female, Alison's mother, English teacher and married to Bruce; mezzo Joan: Female, a college student at Oberlin College, Allison's first lesbian encounter; mezzo

Roy/Mark/Pete/Jeremy/Bobby: Male, various ages; plays Roy, a young man Bruce hires to do yard work; Mark, a high school junior; Pete, a mourner; Jeremy/Bobby; tenor. NOTE: Doubles other supporting male characters.

Small Allison: Female, Alison at 10 years old. Has strong vocals.

Christian: Male, Allison's brother. Minimal vocals.

John: Male, Allison's brother. Minimal vocals.
