In reference to the descriptions below – these are descriptions of the characters as identified in the script and in collaboration with the creative team. They are not meant to be exhaustive of who should play these roles and we seek to cast expansively and intentionally. We acknowledge the history of systemic exclusionary practices and are working to dismantle barriers to theatre-making and auditioning for performers of all races, ethnicities, national origins, gender expressions, body types, and abilities.

We also recognize that most characters are written on the binary (use he/him or she/her pronouns) and we invite gender non-conforming, genderqueer, transgender, and non-binary actors to submit for the roles they most identify with.

RENFIELD: she/her. 40s-60s. A poet, once. A madwoman. Smart, but with all the hope and rage of a feral child. She worships Dracula and believes that if she can earn his approval, she will be free. Renfield is not a bad soul, really, but she is capable of extreme brutality or duplicity in service of her religious zealotry.

*Actors of Asian descent are strongly encouraged to apply for this role. It's important to note that the role demands a high level of physical expressiveness, which may include dynamic movements such as getting on top of tables, thrashing about, navigating stairs, and other similar actions. However, we want to emphasize that we welcome applicants of all abilities and are committed to providing a supportive and inclusive environment for everyone.
